Why the Consultation Comes First
Before committing to a course of non-surgical body sculpting treatments, it pays to sit down with your practitioner and talk through what you actually want to achieve. Body sculpting is not a one-size-fits-all service. Different techniques — ultrasound cavitation, radio frequency, lipo laser, vacuum therapy, wood therapy, lymphatic drainage massage — each target the body in a distinct way, and the right combination depends on your body composition, your goals, and your health history.
At Wumi Body & Face Studio, the consultation exists to protect you. It ensures you receive treatments that are appropriate for your body and that you go into the process with honest, realistic expectations. It is also your opportunity to ask every question you have before spending a penny on a course.
What the 30-Minute Session Covers
Wumi’s consultation lasts 30 minutes and costs £20. Here is a clear breakdown of how that time is used.
A conversation about your goals. Wumi will ask what you want to address — whether that is reducing the appearance of stubborn fat around the tummy, firming loose skin on the arms, improving the look of cellulite on the thighs, or something else entirely. There are no wrong answers, and you do not need to have everything mapped out in advance.
A body assessment. Wumi will look at the areas you want to treat and assess factors such as skin laxity, tissue density, and overall condition. This informs which techniques are most likely to be effective for you specifically.
A review of your health history. Certain medical conditions, medications, implants, and recent surgical procedures affect which treatments are safe to use and where. This is not a medical appointment, but the information gathered here determines your suitability and shapes the treatment plan.
A personalised recommendation. Based on everything discussed, Wumi will suggest specific treatments, explain how many sessions are typically needed to see a difference, and outline what you can expect in terms of how results build over time.
Your questions. Any time left is yours. Ask about cost, how to prepare, what to do between sessions, or anything else on your mind.
What Wumi Will Assess
The assessment focuses on the areas you have flagged as a concern. Wumi will consider:
- The amount and distribution of subcutaneous fat (the fat layer just beneath the skin)
- Skin quality and degree of laxity — relevant when choosing between techniques like radio frequency skin tightening and more targeted fat-reduction approaches
- Lymphatic circulation, which affects how efficiently the body processes treated fat cells and can indicate whether lymphatic drainage massage should be included in your plan
- Any contraindications — conditions or circumstances that would make a particular treatment unsuitable or require medical clearance first
Questions to Ask at Your Consultation
Coming prepared makes the appointment more productive. Consider asking:
- Which techniques do you recommend for my specific concern, and why?
- How many sessions will I need before I see a visible difference?
- How long do results typically last, and what can I do to maintain them?
- Are there any lifestyle factors that will improve my outcomes?
- What should I avoid before and after each session?
- Is there anything about my health history that affects the plan?
How to Prepare
There is little you need to do before attending. Wear comfortable clothing with easy access to the areas you want to discuss. Avoid applying heavy creams or oils to the skin on the day. If you have any relevant medical history — recent surgery, known conditions, or medications — make a mental note to mention these, as they will come up.
You do not need to have a specific treatment in mind. Coming in with a goal (“I want to reduce the appearance of fat around my waist” or “my skin feels loose after losing weight”) is enough. Recommending the right approach is Wumi’s job.
What Happens After the Consultation
If you are assessed as suitable and decide to go ahead, Wumi will build a treatment plan and you can book your first session. Treatments are available at the Dartford studio in Kent (DA1 2DE) or via the mobile home service, which covers all 33 London boroughs, Kent, and Essex.

Non-surgical treatments have no downtime, but results build gradually and vary between individuals. Not a weight-loss or medical service. A consultation and suitability check are required; you must be 18 or over.
